Is Keflex Advisable For Ear Pain, Stuffy Nose And Sore Lymph Node On The Neck?

Hello. My primary care doctor diagnosed me with an infection of my “inner ear” as she could not find evidence of a middle ear infection and my symptoms are left ear pain, left sore lymph node (neck) and stuffy nose. She prescribed Keflex 500mg, Twice/day. Is this the right treatment? My ear feels slightly “full” and is still rather painful after 4 days of treatment.

Hi..

Well inner ear infection is commonly caused by bacteria or viruses and the symptoms that you are facing can be related to it..

I would suggest you that if there is no middle or outer ear infection then can be probably inner ear that is infected..

So th ed medicine that you are advised can help if there is bacterial infection..

Along with it you should take decongestant like otrivin nasal spray and otogesic ear drop.

For pain painkillers like Advil can help..

Hope I have answered your query.
Please let me know if you can assist you further.

Regards.
