Hi doctor Please help. 8 months ago i had an oral sex with a woman i didn t know. I just licked her clitoris and minor labias and then put my finger in her vagina and licked her clitoris until she was done. The whole process took only 2-3 minutes. Please tell me if there is a chance i have got hiv infection??
Hi .welcome to "Ask a doctor" service. I have read your question and here is my advice . Infact there is some chance of transmission of HIV even with oral sex: however transmission of HIV depends on many factor like viral count of the effected person and also the methos of sex .it's highest with anal sex specially male with male .it is much lower with oral sex ( non insertive )Howe'ver there is still a chance of transmission even with oral sex .If you know this within 72 hours you can take drugs for prevention of transmission.. its not recommended after 72 hours . For a single time the chance is very little howe've you need to be very careful in your sexual practice in sure . For confination you can chek your HIV status at 6 weeks then 6 months. Hopes I have answered your question. I will be glad to answer any further question about this. Regards Dr Rahman
