Is Gabapentin Safe In The Treatment Of Diabetic Neuropathy?

I was taking 600mg of gabpetin for diabetes nuerpathy and was told while in th hospital for another prolem that I need to tale 300mg because the 600mg will affect my bladder. will not 300mg have the same effect as the 600mg? I am asking thi for my 85 year old Aunt. Thank you.
