Is Flucloxacillin The Right Medicine For Tooth Abscess?
I have an abscess which has developed after a mole removal. It still has a hard part around the wound. The doctor has prescribed flucloxillin 500mg 4 times a day. The infection got worse after 24 hrs so they changed the antibiotics in case I had mercer (which I dont) and after a further 24 hrs it was even worse. The hard part was now 10cm. I have finished 3 days of drip and still there
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of abscess which is due to presence of infection in that area and it can leads to bacteremia and septicemia as it can spread to tissue spaces.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit oral and maxillofacial surgeon once and get it examined completely and start treatment accordingly. You should take proper course of antibiotics and maintain complete hygiene. You should take Tramadol along with Azithromycin. Drink plenty of water. Avoid touching or pricking area with any sharp object.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
