I am getting microblading done on my eyebrows (semi permanent makeup). She said she uses a little epinephrine in numbing process. I currently take 3 inhalers for copd. 1. albuterol sulfate 2. ipatropium bromide 3. mometasone furoate and formoterol fumarate. is that ok?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome.
Epinephrine can be taken safely for localized action.

To produce a painless procedure of microblading sometimes a little amount of vasoconstrictor like Epinephrine is injected along with local anesthetic.

The idea here is to prolong the duration of action of local anesthetic and to minimize its unwanted side effects.

Since the amount of Epinephrine is too small and it is unlikely to get absorbed into systemic circulation to have any adverse effects, so it can be used safely while taking three inhalers (Albuterol, Ipratropium and Mometasone with Formoterol) for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Hope these answer your query.
