Is Duphaston Safe During Early Pregnancy?

Hi, I am 11 weeks pregnant and on continuous medication for Duphaston as prescribed by my gynae. I am reading these comments where it is advisable not to use this medicine during pregnancy. I m worried. Is it true this might lead to miscarriage or an abortion? Please help!!

Thanks for asking in healthcaremagic forum
I understand your concern. This medication is used to prevent miscarriage or abortion, so the question does not arise of adverse events due to this. It is used in pregnancy, no need to worry you can follow your doctor's advice. All the best.

Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Noble Zachariah's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.
Several medicines in the first 3 months of pregnancy may cause harm to the baby.
Your doctor would have given you Duphaston because you have a high risk of abortion.
You should not discontinue it without your doctor's consent.
Take care,
