Is Doxazosin Different From Terazosin?

I wake up at least three times a night to urinate. I already take finesteride. My doctor has tried lots of different medications. The best has been Cialis, but my prescription plan does not want to pay for it. I am currently using Doxazosin with makes me dizzy. I am taking half the prescribed amount. 4mg. The insurance company also suggested Terazosin. Is there any difference in Doxazosin and Terazosin?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Regarding your concern, I would explain that terazosin belongs to the same pharmacological family as doxazosin. So, it is supposed to cause the same adverse effects. Anyway, I recommend trying it and see if you tolerate it better compared to doxazosin.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
