Is Dialectical Behavior Therapy Suggestible To A Recovering Drug Addict?

My son is a recovering drug addict with severe anxiety and depression issues. Also, has massive panic attacks. Someone recommended dialectical behavior therapy for him, but don t know anyone in our area I could recommend to him. Looking for someone in the Manchester, NH, or Nashua, NH, areas. Preferably Manchester, NH.

Hi,

Dialectical Behavior Therapy is indicated for borderline personality disorder. Your son would perhaps benefit more from other forms of therapy. He will also need support to maintain abstinence and to manage lapses if any. I would suggest that you consult a psychiatrist in your area and let him recommend a therapist and the therapy needed.

Best wishes.
