Is Cipro Safe To Be Taken Instead Of Flagyl For Bladder Pain While Having Colitis?

Yes I recently took oral flagyl for colitis and experienced severe pelvic,bladder pain after one 500 mg tablet. I tried once before with same results. My Dr. gave me Cipro to take to substitute for flagella. Is this good substitute. I do have interstitial cystitis. Could this be reason for the pain. I can use the flagella ointment for vaginal infection with no pain.I cannot pay a fee for this information. I did not see anything about charge.Thank Phyllis Osteen

I really appreciate your concern, here both drug Flagyl and Cipro are for different indications like flagyl is anti-protozoa drug and Cipro is antibacterial drug that can not be substitute of one another and is to be given according to causative organism, if this is vaginal infection then better to treat this on local drug like broad spectrum antibiotic like intra vaginal suppository like Povidone and hope this information helps.
