Is Cefdinir Safe To Be Taken For Sinus Infection?
my 15 year old daughter is suffering from a severe sinus infection. we are switching from biaxin to cefdinir tonight but the md sent the pediatric dose, and a low one at that. (also in suspension instead of tablets) what is the correct dose for a 15 year old who weighs 135 lbs. If you go by the pediatric dose it's 429 mg 2x/day

The appropriate dose for her weight and age would be the normal adult dose for sinusitis, which is usually 300 mg twice a day. The dosage that has been prescribed sounds high in fact, be careful when calculating the volume based on concentration.
It is possible to give older children a suspension-type medication, even adults sometimes, but if the dosing is correct, it is not an issue.
