Is CT Scan Test Advisable For Colonic Tuberculosis?
Female,age24,weight34,,sir/madam I have been told that I have intestinal tb after usg and ct scan of abd and pelvis and I have been on ATT for 4 months(first 2 months 1forecox daily and later 2 akt3 daily) now my stomach pain is reappearing ....whether ct scan is enough to tell about this disease or I have to go through colonoscopy..thanks in advance
Warm welcome to Healthcaremagic.com I have evaluated your query thoroughly .
* CT scan is a non invasive procedure and it is of choice instead of colonoscopy at first stage .
* Colonoscopy will not reveal certain parts as stomach , gall bladder , lymph nodes outside the intestine , free fluid in the abdomen and so many vital informations .
* After CT it would be a more better precise picture to alter the therapy further .
* Treating doctor may decide for upper GI endoscopy or colonoscopy later according to his or her requirement clinically .
Hope this will help you for sure . Welcome for further assistance .
Regards .
