Is C Diff Infection Possible Despite Washing The Hands Thoroughly?

I am a new nurse who took care of a c diff. Patient today. I thought I washed my hands well, but I came home and a few hours later had to urgently use the restroom. Now my stomach feels kind of off. I am also taking an antibiotic for my acne. Could I have contracted cdiff that quickly? I am worried.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that you do have an infection of the gastrointestinal tract but this would be suspected if the symptoms continue.
Diarrhea would be diagnosed if you have at least 3 loose stools.

If this occurs, you would need to assessed to determine if your symptoms are due to c diff or another cause because this would affect treatment.

I hope this helps
