Is Butalbital/Acetaminophen 325 Mg The Right Medicine For Migraine Headache?

ive been getting migrain headaches since 2012...i take lisinipril 5mg for my blood pressure and ive been taking butalb/acetaminophen 325 mg tablets for 3 years for my migrains. im concernrd my migrains are going on for so long and not going away....i am 54 years old, female.....never smoked, drink only on occasions.when my migrains come i have to rub my forehead with pressure...i also have been getting pain on the back of my head,on top of my neck lately...anything to be concerned about?

Regarding your concern, I would explain that these drugs are not preferred for chronic use as preventive therapy in migraine.

They should be used only during migraine attacks as painkillers.

From the other hand the chronic intake of such drugs, can lead to chronic drug induced headache.

I would recommend consulting with your attending physician and discussing the possibility of starting a preventive therapy like a calcium channel blocker (verapamil), a betablocker (propranolol) or an antidepressant (amytriptiline, sertraline, etc.) for the chronic prevention of headaches.
