Is Budecort Along With Duolin Advisable For Severe Cough In A Child?

My daughter 4yr old hvng much cough since few days.shes nt able t slp also at night tme coz of continous cough.gven duolin 1cc and budecort 1cc with 0.5 of distild water.aftr takng it she was coughing continously fr 2 hrs.then cough came down.what can be gvn fr nebulizatn.is it the corect one wht im gvng?

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child is having severe cough which is not recovering even after taking medications which means your child is having severe upper respiratory tract infection and poor immunity of body is there. You should give Budecort along with Duolin to your child before sleep and do it on 1-2 days in a week so as to avoid any addiction. I would suggest you to give it for short duration. Need not to worry. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. Visit pediatrician once and get it examined. Go for chest x-ray of child to check extent of infection. Give child steam inhalation. Avoid cold beverages to child. Apply mist humidifiers in room. Give vitamin C pellet to child and diet rich in multivitamins.
