I appreciate your concern for the
high BP of your son.
Incomplete data: his body weight, dietary habits, and physical activity.
For the age of 19 yrs with normal health conditions the BP should be - 120/80 mm of Hg.
The digital (battery operated) devices for the recording of BP are not accurate in giving the exact BP, hence the manual (sphygmomanometer) is recommended to get the accurate readings.
If his BP is found to be the same or high it is a matter of concern.
He should be examined by a physician and should undergo some routine investigations like ECG, blood tests,
ultrasound, etc to rule out the possible secondary (underlying) causes like
kidney diseases or
hormonal disorders which can occur at this and are responsible for high BP.
So, his BP should be measured by a health care provider by manual method as mentioned above.
