Is BP - 155/74 A Cause For Concern?

Hi, my blood pressure has been up at some of my antenatal checks. I am now at week 34, going on 35 this Wednesday. I was due to visit my GP today but she is away for a couple of days so I have just taken my own BP at home. It is 155 over 74 - I know the top fig is fairly high but should i be concerned??

Thanks for contacting HCM. dear patient probably you are using electronic BP apparatus which is usually inaccurate. Also some times apprehension about BP can transiently raise systolic blood pressure as it appears in your case. In pregnancy the rise in diastolic BP is more important which in your case is 74, which is good. You have not mentioned whether you were hypertensive prior to getting pregnant or you developed hypertension during pregnancy. Also are you taking any medications? With current readings you can wait for your doctor to come back and decide. regards
