Hi, Occasion doses of avil may be safe during breastfeeding. If taken in larger doses or more prolonged use may cause side effects in the infant or decrease the milk supply. Single bedtime doses after the last feeding of the day may be adequate for many women and will minimize any effects of the drug. However, non-sedating antihistamines such as cetirizine or loratadine may be taken at night or during day time.
