Is Asthalin Syrup Effective In Treatment Of Persistent Cough?

My mom is 80 yrs old and has a persistent cough problem for last few months. She was asked to take some generic cough syrups but they did not help. Asthalin syrup is effective and she has it once in the night only which helps her to sleep. Is it okay for her to continue having half a teaspoon at bedtime everyday?

I read your question and I understand your concern.

Asthalin (Salbutamol) is a substance which mediates dilatation of the airways. It has rare side effects and generally can be used for long periods of times safely.
Its use requires reevaluation in case her symptoms are not controlled adequately anymore or if she has conditions which could be affected by it like heart arrhythmia.

I hope to have been of help.
