Is Ashwagandha Effective In The Treatment Of Thyroid?

I am thinking about taking ashwagandha.... are there benefits for your thyroid. What organic natural brand would you recommend..... Can it be toxic or have any negative effects. Also, what dosage do you recommend and can I take it once a day instead of twice. No thank you. I didnt know there would be a fee. Thanks anyway

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for asking at Healthcaremagic.
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.

Do not go for natural/magical remedies for thyroid disease. If your hormone status is norma l, you can have organic foods or naturopathy. It may increase the general health of your thyroid.
Do a thyroid function test(TFT), if it's normal you can go with Ashwagandha even though no solid scientific evidence is available for its role in thyroid. If thyroid status is deranged, consult a physician and get appropriate treatment.
Some of the natural brands contain steroids as a content. Avoid steroid containing supplements.
Thanks
