Is Aricept Effective In The Treatment Of Short Term Memory Loss?

Ok , thank you. I am 86 yrs old leading an active life: Going to the gym to work out with a trainor 4xs a week, walking two dogs twice a day--mildly active with my previous real estate career, handling 5 rental properties of mine and my daughters---We share them. Go out with friends--am slim and enjoy life---except I can see I m probably not going to be able to stay in this condition into my 90s. Do you recommend Articept? I do have very mild short term memory challenges!

Hello,

Aricept is used to treat people with dementia- one of its symptoms is memory loss. You are diagnosed by doing memory tests. Aricept is not used for mild short term memory loss which is common when one gets older. Since you seem very active and managing well it seems unlikely you have dementia.-- i would continue as you are doing- exercise, good diet and enjoying life.

Kind Regards
