Is Angioplasty useful for a cardiac attack ?

My dad has had a severe Heart attack on 28-11-06. Doctors now suggest to go for angioplasty after doing the angiography. It costs about 2lacs. is there any other option? My father had an attack on 28-11-06.Doctors say that there is 95% blockage in the main artery and there is urgent need of angioplasty. But the fact is that my dad is mostly veg. and is not suffering from diabeties. B.P.,over weight or something like that. He weighs 55Kg., and is 5 6 tall his age is 53 yrs. Our relatives say that u should not panic and hurry for angioplasty, but the doc. insists to go for i as soon as possible.(Pune) Please help us and pray to god!!!!!!

Blockage is 95%!! Go ahead for an angioplasty, if u want to save your father.
  User's Response
Angioplasty will open up the blocked artery that caused the heart attack in the first place. It would be very wise to go ahead with this procedure to help prevent another attack. The sooner the better. Of course there are medications but these should be taken as well as having surgery for best outcome.

Hi, I m brand new to this. Last night, my 40 yr old husband had a massive heart attack in his LAD. 99% blocked with a clot, heart stopped, one shock brought him back. He was transferred to a cardiac hospital where they did an angio, busted the clot then inserted a stent. The doctor said that his RCA (?) actually showed an old blockage of 100%, but that his heart compensated and created new blood paths. His CX (?) is 50% blocked and his RI is also 50% blocked. His ejection fraction last night was 20% and the doctor said his heart is in bad shape. I m getting these terms (RCA, CX, RI) from a diagram that the doc gave to us. He had some extra fluid on his lungs last night, given lasix but its working slowly. Earlier tonight he spiked a temp of 101.something and his O2 sats went down. They took a chest x-ray and have diagnosed him with pneumonia also. I don t really know the Dr. who took care of him (he was transferred to this hospital from a smaller one) and I m not quite sure how much normalcy my husband can expect. Its been approximately 24 hours since his heart stopped and he was brought back. Should I still be worried about another imminent heart attack or sudden death?

Hi Doc

I am a male, 68yo, widower, Chinese (not from China). I lead an active sex life.....I have sex at least twice a week sometimes with different women (not prostitute). For the last 1 month, 5 out of 10 times that I have sex...I couldn't ejaculate although the sensation of ejaculation were there. I have Type 1 Diabetes..I inject 52mg of insulin everyday plus captoril and simvastatin. I also consume 80mg of Aspirin everyday for the last 20 years.

My question is.....Is there any kind of medication\drug that I can take so that I can ejaculate each time I have sex.

Thank you.

We have consulted a doctor and she has prescribed Tab Duphaston (10 mg) twice daily. Could you advise us of its purpose and if it has any side effects in long-term. We would really appreciate your advice on this.
