Is Anagrelide A Safe Medicine For Essential Thrombocythemia?

I have post ET MF. I was diagnosed ET in 1998 and prescribed anagrilide. In 2004 I was diagnosed with MF and have still been on the Anagrelide since then. Someone in the Myelofibrosis Support Group told me that they don t even prescribe Anagrelide anymore, that it can be bad for you. None of my doctors have ever said anything about me taking it all this time. Should I be concerned?
