Is Advil Recommended In Case Of Shoulder Joint Pain?

Both shoulder joints hurt, left side the worse, I am left handed. Sometime it aches to much that it hurts in the wrist joints also. My right shoulder hurts but not like the left. advil nor aleve seem to bring any relief. No pain when I first get up in the morning. PA that I saw thought it was polymyalga rheumatica. I took a prednisone pack (21 pills). Made no change at all. It is not hot nor swollen. Not sure what kind of dr I should see next. I am a female, 62 yrs old

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I have studied your case.
It can be rotator cuff injury which may need MRI for confirmation.
Another possibility of acromioclavicular impingement.

Medication like methylcobalamine with muscle relaxant and analgesic will reduce pain, you can take them consulting your treating doctor.
You may consult physiotherapist for further guidance. He may start TENS ,or ultrasound which is helpful in your case.
You may need to take rest for early healing.
It is hazardous to take prednisone with out proper guidance.
You may need to consult orthopaedic doctor.

Also check your vit B12 and vit D3 in your blood.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care
