Is Adderall A Better Drug Than Strattera?

I am 78. All my life I ve been aware that I am ADD. I never understood why others with ADD seemed to be able to accomplish more than I have. I now have self-diagnosed myself as ADHD-PI. I want to live my remaining years finally as I should have been able all my life. I take Carvedilol for the condition where occasionally my heart receives a double signal resulting in rapid pulse. I have read that Adderall is a better drug than Strattera for use with Carvedilol because of the Alpha/Beta factor. Is this correct?

Hello! Adderall (amphetamine&dextroamphetamine) and Strattera are both ADHD agents. They both have many side effects such as headache, abdominal pain, insomnia, decreased appetite, weight loss, nervousness and agitation. The two late ones are more frequent with adderall. Regarding the cardiovascular side effects and cautions, adderall induce hypertension and palpitation, meanwhile strattera induces arrhythmias by QT interval prolongation and syncope. In the meantime there are not interaction found between strattera and carvedilol. The use of adderall and carvediloo has significant interaction found. Adderall decreases carvedilol effects and there should be used under a close monitoring or should be avoided.
In my opinion, you should see a doctor to make the right diagnosis, evaluate your type of arrhythmia, if there is any other condition or disease that may worsen by the use of these kind of drugs, and finally decide which is the best way or drug to manage your disease.
I hope i have been of help.
