Is Acyclovir The Right Medication For Shingles?

I was diagnosed with shingles on Wednesday I went to my doctor and she prescribed some pills call Acyclovir 800Mg to be taken one tablet 5 time a day for 7 day I m the type that doesn t like to take pills is this a good pill to take for the shingles.

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Shingles is nothing but a relapse of chicken pox which I caused by virus. Acyclovir is the drug of choice for that. Your doctor prescribed you the right medication please follow the instructions given by your doctor. Dont worry you will recover soon.
