Is ALT Level Of 74 A Cause For Concern?

I am a 56 years old man, I regularly play soccer. I came with high liver numbers I was 98 ALT and I dropped to 74 ALT. I did stopped drinking liquor at all for six months. I only have 1 or two beers every other week now. Are those number still very bad? Last test I did was 7 months ago.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
According to NABL laboratory standard, reference range for the ALT is 21-78 IU/L.
It has a significance when level is 4-6 fold high with deranged other live panel tests.
So do not worry ALT 74 is with in the normal range and nothing to worry.
Better to go for GGT test to know the alcohol toxicity.
But do not worry, you are on the safe side.
Avoid excessive alcohol in future.
Hope this may help you
