Is 1000mg Metformin Enough To Normalize The Glucose Level In Blood?

I am taking 500mg Metformin before breakfast and 500mg after dinner. I found that taking another 500mg
after lunch caused gastric problems.
Is 1000 mg enough to normalize the glucose in blood.
I can't handle 4 pills because of side effects.
What would the optimal readings be after 1000 mg of metformin

Hello,
It is very difficult to predict whether your blood sugar levels would get normalised after increasing the dose of metformin. In case you are feeling side effects on increasing th dose of metformin, then a different anti diabetic medicine can be added to your regime. There are various good anti diabetics are available which can be used judiciously to get the desired results.
Along with medications,do regular aerobic exercises for 45 minutes a day and take proper dietary control measures.
It is very important to keep a tight control on your blood sugar levels so as to avoid future micro as well as macrovascular complications.
Thanks
