Irregular temp, hot or cold brittle nails, loss of eyelashes, dry skin, weight gain. Blood level is normal on thyroid. What do i do?

hello, i have had a iregular temp for a large a mount of years. from 95. to 97.4 . all i hear is your blood leavel is close to normal on your throid .. so why am i hot or cold brittle nails loss of eyelashes dry skin(look like a gator) weight gain . even thinning hair and now dry also. why wont a dr, try a throid pill for a while to see if i inprove?

I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
I understand from what you have stated that you have many symptoms of hypothyroidism. Manytimes, hypothyroidism may be there inspite of the normal thyroid levels. You are right in suggesting that if there is a suspicion, a doctor should give it a try and prescribe low dosage of thyroid. Infact even in depression which is resistant to medications,we do try adding thyroid supplementation and the patient does show significant improvement.
