I'm 19 years old. Female. I have very irregular periods. Iam currently 4 days late getting my period and I have been having unprotected sex. I recently today started having a pain in my lower abdomen. It's below my belly button but above my vagina. It's not an std. I was checked 2weeks ago. Everything was fine. The pain in inside, I can walk but it's annoying. Not a uti feeling either..... Just awkward annoying pain.. Please help me. Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

As you have said, its pain below umbilicus giving you discomfort.

I assume that it is not a STD and that both you and your partner maintain adequate sexual hygiene during unprotected sex.

i feel a consultation with your gynaecologist would be beneficial. Since you have history of irregular periods, I would suggest an ultrasound scan of your lower abdomen. Any problem in ovaries like cysts will be detected. Any other problem causing lower abdomen pain will also be known.

Hope this helps.
