Pcod or polycystic ovarian disease is characterised by delayed periods, obesity and weight gain.
Pcod can never be completely cured with medicines.
Patients with pcod have difficulty in conception and require help in the form of medicines.this is because they do not know when they will have menses and hence do not know when they will ovulate.
They are given medicines to induce egg formation paralleled with ovulation studies and timed intercourse.
Weight is to be watched as weight gain worsens pcod.when not trying for pregnancy, you cam use oral contraceptives or birth control pills to regularise your periods.
