Irregular heartbeats, feeling of anxiety, ECG normal

Hi, I have skipped heartbeats and have been told by the cardiologist after wearing a monitor for 24 hours, an ECG and an echocardiogram that all is normal and not to worry. Please can you tell me some ways to calm this down in my body as its a vicious circle of anxiety that doesn t go away when they start. I got them one year after moving and starting a very demanding job in 2008 but I haven t found a way feel a ease with it.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hi Nadia,
You have undergone all relevant tests which are normal and you have rightly been told by your doctor not to worry. However you should avoid excess of cafeinated drinks like tea, coffee, colas etc and to allay your anxiety take an anti anxiety drug.

General & Family Physician Dr. Muhammad Ishfaq Habib's  Response
missing beats is associated with lots of disease and most of these diseases is associated with different ages as you haven't mentioned your age so its difficult to correlate any condition with you symptoms however you ECG findings are normal so then its most probable of the anxiety you are having. for which you can use propranolol 10mg once daily.
with regards
