Irregular Bowel Movement,distended Stomach,foul Smell.

My seven year old has always had irregular bowel patterns and has always had a very round (distended) stomach which I thought she would have grown out of by now. She also waits 2-3 days to go and when she does it is extremely large and smells especially bad. Could this be due to a food allergy such as wheat, gluten or dairy??
