Intermittent Electric Shock Like Sensations At The Back Of Head. Cause?

I Have electric shock sensations in my back head. It feels as though someone is zapping me with electricity in the back of my head. The feeling starts at the back of my skull . The sensation only lasts a few seconds, but sometimes it does it over and over for several minutes. I have had these before, but it was very few and it very infrequent, but they have returned and now are happening every day.

Hi,

If this pain feels like an electric shock or lightning bolt sensation then it is likely to be neurological (nerve) in origin. My recommendations would include a cervical x ray series to rule out any pathology and conservative care by either a chiropractor or physical therapist.

Yours in health,

Dr. Glenn Ezell
