Ingrown Hair In Labia, Tenderness And Swelling. What Is It?

I have had what I thought was an ingrown hair on my outer left labia and during the day today, it went from being relatively small to about an inch and a half long and I am experiencing tenderness and swelling with a couple lymph nodes not too far from my genital area. I took a warm bath and had my husband look down there, even made him take a picture so i could try to see it better. It is very red and although that area is generally is warm, its considerably warmer now. I plan on contact in my physician in the morning, but I am just going nuts trying to figure this out

Helloa'am.

The location does assist the possibility of this being an ingrown hair.

But the presence of swollen lymph nodes raises concern for a possible different cause.

If this is indeed and ingrown hair, warm compresses to the affected region, warm sitz baths with epsom salt shall reduce and completely relieve you of the same.

But then again, the presumed diagnosis is only based on what you think. It is best for a doctor to physically examine you and diagnose tou accordingly.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
