Infant with sticky green thick fluid leaking from ear. What is the cure?

Hi my 13 month old ears constantly leak a very sticky like green thick fluid ! Could this be glue ear, he had had around 8 so callled ear infection in 8 months , the problems arose when he was 4 months old and now it doesnt go away ! The discharge has a very distinct odour which ia hard to describe,his nose had been running non stop for months, any suggestion ? Waiting to be seen by a specialist ! Thanx

The persistence of a green malodorous discharge implies a chronic infection of the ear. This requires antibiotic therapy, if it has been occurring for months then it is good that you are taking him to see a specialist.Persistent untreated ear infections can , in rare cases, be associated with complications such as decreased hearing.

The constant nasal discharge may mean that he has allergic sinusitis which can be treated by avoiding the specific allergen if it is known ( it can be identified by allergy testing) and the intermittent use of anti histamines.At his age , he cannot use nasal sprays.
