Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare magic.

The child looks like having bacterial skin infection of the scalp know as pyoderma.

If the boils are less, only topical antibacterial ointment like mupirocin application thrice daily for 5 to 7 days is enough.

If the boils are extensive, in addition to local application oral antibiotics like cephalexin, cefadroxil, or amoxicillin may be needed.

And I advise you not to apply any oil or herbal product for this lesions as the problem may be aggravated by leading to contact dermatitis or spreading of the infection to the other areas.

I advise you to consult the pediatrician for the examination of the scalp and for the prescription of medication.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
