Infant Wakes Up With A Squint Eye, Normalizes Within An Hour. Is It Worrisome?

My 10 month old wakes up with one looking the wrong away ( cross) It happens every time she wakes up from a sleep. It takes about 30 minutes for it to correct itself but it seems to be taking longer and longer these days to go back to normal. What could this be? And what can I do to help it to go away. I have taken her to the doctor but he didn t seem very concern.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

I suggest that you get your daughter examined by an ophthalmologist. Porbably one of the eyes has a refractive error which needs to be corrected. The eye with the refractive error becomes lazy and the muscles get weak.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter all the best.

Regards,
