Infant Has Small Soft Lump Above Hip Bone, Had Recurring Bouts Of Intestinal Virus. Is This Hernia?

My 17 year old son has a small soft lump (not on skin but under) above right hipbone area. No pain but occasional pressure. He has has two bouts of intestinal virus in past two weeks and does wrestle. Could it be a hernia and should we keep close watch on it or go on in to doctor. He said it was bruised then bruise healed and now that s where bruise was.

Hi
Since how many days that swelling is there? Is it increasing in size or increasing in size with cough? Some times this swelling may be enlarged inguinal lymphnode or a hernia. Consult your doctor for the examination of the swelling.
