Infant Has Constipation, Mother Has Insufficient Milk. Suggest Routine

My infant is 1 month 5 days old. My wife used to feed her every day-7am,11am,3pm,6pm,8pm,11pm,3am,(+/-30-45-60 mins). Sometimes My wife gets drained of milk but baby still remain hungry. Also My baby's stomach get constipated as well. she passes stool after every 2 days. The stool she passes is a bit solid- not semisolid. Also My wife is not having enough sleep as well.

1. Can you pls suggest a regular routine which we can follow so that baby & mother have balanced days?
2. Do we need to use formula milk(Dexolac/Lactogen)to contain baby's hunger once my wife is drained of milk?
3. Can we give water/juice ?
Kindly advise

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,
It appears as though your wife has insufficient milk production and this is why feed times are prolonged and also the baby is remaining hungry. In this situation the baby should be top fed in addition to mother's milk. Constipation is most likely due to insufficient intake.
-Try breast feeding at six-hourly intervals and give top feed in between.
-You may need to use additional feed after consulting your child's pediatrician.
-Water or juice should not be given at this age.
Hope your query has been clarified. Take care.
