Infant Frequently Falls While Walking. Ruled Orthopedic. Is He Having A Seizure?
i have a 21 month old son. He started walking at 11 months old. He started having episodes of falling while walking at around 18 months. we have ruled out orthopedic problem. they now are suggesting Neurological problems like seizures. What should i b watching for in meantime? How can i tell if he is having a seizure? I have noticed that he will sometimes get a distance look and then drool a little bit (he is not a drooler)
Hello I have gone through your query and understood your concerns. The first thing I need to mention is you need to observe drooling of saliva, urination, rolling of eyes and tongue biting to know whether it is seizure or not. But the only thing you can rule out is by having EEG. If you were my patient I will definitely advise you about EEG. It is always better to rule out things early to prevent complications. And in case of your baby the problem may be related to improper balance while walking which usually gets corrected after proper training. Consult neurologist for having EEG. Thank you.
