Infant Coughing During Feeding, Breathing Through The Mouth. What To Do?

Hi, my 12 days old doctor is coughing a little during feeding sometimes and breathing through the mouth sometimes. I had shown her to the local children doctor and they said ok. I want to know the precautions to be taken at home so as to avoid cough and other day to day issues with the baby.

Hi,
Thank you for your query.
Cough may occur during feeds because of sucking milk rapidly during this age group.
While giving feeds, make the child in comfortable position with head in up position and make the child to drink milk slowly.
If there is any nose block, there will be difficulty in feeding so make his nostrils clear if there is any nose block by putting saline nasal drops one drop into each nostril.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
