I'm 30 yrs old, weight 47 kg. I was taking tryptomer 25 for last 2 years as doc prescribed me this to increase my apetite and gain weight. I stopped the medicine now as its was causing severe nausia. But after stopping the medicine I'm getting symptoms like less apetite, unable to eat much as I'm feeling full after having little amount of food, acid formation in stomach. Hence my health is detorioting and also loosing weight which I gained after taking tryptomer for long time. Please suggest as I want to stop this medicine without loosing my health.

Gastroenterologist 's  Response
Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist (DM).

For increasing apetite and weight gain there is no need for taking tryptomer. I will advise you to take syrup cyproheptadine before meals it will increase your apetite and for gaining weight if it is required take high fat and protein diet.

I hope I have answered your query and this will help you. If you have any further query I will be happy to answer that too. Remain in touch and get-well soon.
