Hello,
Welcome to HCM,

Giardia Lamblia is the most common cause of parasitic gastrointestinal disease and most common symptoms of giardiasis are diarrhea, abdominal pain, particularly cramping, bloating, nausea with or without vomiting, malaise, and fatigue.

The giardiasis is diagnosed by detecting a antigen in the stool

The most common treatment for giardiasis is metronidazole for 5-10 days. It has an efficacy rate of 75% to 100%.

Tinidazole is highly effective at treating giardiasis (>90%). It also can be given as a single dose and is well tolerated. The single tab in a dose of 500 mg is sufficient in management of giardiasis.
Thank you.
