Improper Passage Of Stools And High Fever. On Mefenamic Acid Suspension And Paracetamol. Suggest Treatment?

HELLO doctor,
my daughter is 2 yrs 9 months old and weighs 21 kgs. she did not pass stool for the last 2 days and now she has a high fever ( 102) since yesterday night. I'm giving her mefenamic acid suspension and paracetamol alternately every 4-5 hours to control the temperature. Today she passed 3 small stools with the smell of a rotten egg. Please suggest treatment.

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
She probably has a stomach bug.
Continue giving mefanamic acid/paracetamol. Give her enough fluids to keep her well hydrated.
Get stool test done for confirmation of infection.
Give her probiotic supplements.
Regards,
Dr.Ratnakar Kini
