I'm experiencing a rapid cold when as sleep and difficulties in breathign this usuall last for about 5 minutes and returns to normal what could be the causes

This is called as Sleep apnea, and recently there was a telecast in one of the channels. It is due to obstruction in airflow it seems and can get it operated. the doctor even said that it is possible to reduce the severity with exercise and weight reduction.
