If Only The Follicle Size Is More Than 18 Mm There Are Chances For Pregnancy?
Hi doctor, i was diagnosed as having PCOS and advice to take letroz 2.5mg dose from day 2 to day WWW.WWWW.WW And my 12th day TVS scan result was...1.3x 0.7mm dominant folicle in left ovary and no dominant folicle in right ovary. Then again i was asked to do TVS on 15th day. And the result was ...1.39x 1.0 mm folicle in left ovary and 1.3x 1.2 mm folicle in right ovary. But i heard if the folicle size matures more than 18 mm only theres a chance for pregnancy. So i want to know wheher still i hav a chance in this cycle?
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. It is true that the ovulation occurs when the dominant follicle reaches16-18 mm in size. Since in your case, the follicles have not grown to that size till day 15, even after ovulation induction with letrozol, there are no chances of pregnancy in this menstrual cycle. I would suggest you to consult your doctor and increase the dose of letrozol or take a different ovulation induction drug for making follicles grow, in the next cycle. Hope you found the answer helpful to. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
