IS Swelling And Redness Normal On The Thigh Post Vaccination?

My 4 year old son just got four shots (two in each thigh). His left leg looks fine. His right thigh is swollen, red and warm to the touch. Is this a normal reaction or should we have it looked at? His temp is 99.1 and he s acting fine. No complaints of pain or itching.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your son's symptoms of swelling and reddnes around the thigh following an injectable vaccine I am suggesting that this is due to the autoimmune reaction from the body which will eventually subside in due course

Hence you don't have to worry except when the swelling is containing pus with associated fever then you can see a paediatric specialist for further clinical assessment and adequate expert management

Meanwhile don't massage it but give him some syrup NSAID

I hope this helps Regards
