IS An Active Precordium In A Child Ever Normal?
IS an active precordium in a child ever normal? She is 8, active & growing, but has been at 25-50% on charts since age 3months. Hx of low Hbg as baby/toddler but has not been checked for awhile. Hx of lips turning blue and passing out if crying really hard. She is 56lbs, and approx 50inches tall.

Active precordium can be a marker of underlying heart disease but can also be seen in very lean children. It is worrying that her lips are turning blue and she passes out while crying - This certainly does not seem right to me hence she definitely needs a detailed cardiac ECHO if this has already not been done to rule out cardiac problems to start with.
