I went to the clinic back in august for what I thought was a cold coming on and the nurse said I had inflammation so she gave me some prednisone to take . I didn't get better so I went back to the clinic and she told me I had thrush. She said probably from the prednisone. She gave me some liquid medicine to take for a week. It started to feel better towards the end of the time. But then about a month later my tongue started to feel sore towards the middle to end of my tongue like I burned it but I had not. It also feel sore towards the sides at times. I went to my doctor and he gave me a week worth of amoxicillin to take. I took the medicine for a week and it still feels the same.The main reason went into the clinic in the first place was that a week before I started to feel the first symptoms back in August, I had been having oral sex with my boyfriend and we had just recently been trying a vaginal lubricant since I get dry (age 57) and I thought that maybe the lubricant had irritated my throat even though it claims to be food grade and organic. Then I thought maybe my tongue was equally affected. But The doctor took a urine sample to test for sexually transmitted diseases, and it was negative. I deal a lot with clients and I have to have fresh breath so I am also continuously chewing Dentyne Ice gum and sucking on tic tacs. Both of which has a tendency to burn. just want this burning tongue feeling to stop. the main place it hurts is fro the middle towards the tip but not to the tip. And it feels like I burned it.
