I was put on 70 mg. of methadone 20 mg. every 6 hours and 30mg at bedtime and 8mg. of alprazolam 2 mg. every 6 hrs. this was done at the V.A. Hosp. about 10 years ago . I was then taken off methadone about 1 &1/2 years ago. but was still taking 8 mg. of alprazolam a day. I went from 161 pounds down to116 pounds. to sick to eat. I then went to a pain clinic an was put back on 60 mg. of methadone but was cut back to 1/2 mg. of alprazolam every 8 hours. I then would take 3 mg. of alprazolam every 6 to 8 hours. not really enough but made it work. but run out and start to detox. I am out of alprazolam now &am very sick no one to help me
